Boston Hemp Inc.: What is the difference between Delta-8 and Delta-9?

NEWS PROVIDED BY Boston Hemp Inc

BOSTONJune 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — THC is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in both hemp and cannabis plants. People who use these cannabinoids either through smoking, vaping or ingesting them find that they feel an increased sense of euphoria, an increase in appetite and an increased sense of awareness.

While there may be many similarities between Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC, the major differences are how they are derived and classified. Sativa cannabis plants that have Delta-9 THC levels that are below .3% are classified as hemp and are legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. From these hemp plants, both low grade Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC cannabinoids are derived and processed into a variety of products.

The only chemical difference between Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC is where a particular double bond is located on the chain of carbon atoms. Delta 8 has a double bond on the eighth carbon atom in its molecular structure; Delta 9 has a double bond on the ninth carbon atom.

While some people might say there are no significant differences to be found when comparing these two compounds side by side, this slight chemical distinction can lead to cognitive changes and physical effects. Users considering whether to choose Delta 8 vs. Delta 9 are choosing between two decidedly different products.

Delta 9 THC is the cannabinoid that most marijuana users are looking for when they want to get a euphoric high and is what most people refer to when they say “THC.” Delta 9 binds with CB-1 receptors in the brain and can produce strong psychoactive effects like elation, relaxation, talkativeness, and laughter.

Delta 8 THC may produce mild psychoactive effects, though they are much less impactful than Delta 9 THC. Delta 8 users may be looking for the medicinal effect of this form of THC, like pain relief, anxiety reduction, reduced inflammation, and relief from insomnia.

Delta 8 is found in hemp plant material in minimal amounts and harvesting enough raw plant material to profit off the low levels of Delta 8 would take too much time, effort, and money. Instead, growers look to processors to extract and effectively concentrate Delta 8 from the raw plant material, and fortunately for hemp producers who want to extract this compound, CBD can be converted into pure Delta 8.

Boston Hemp Inc. continues to expand their product offerings that include both Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC. New products include flower, vapes, tinctures and gummies. Products are available for sale at their Hanover location and online at www.BostonHempInc.com. Products purchased online can be shipped anywhere in the United States.

KAYAHUB PRODUCT REVIEW: DOSE IN A BOX

KAYAHUB PRODUCT REVIEW: DOSE IN A BOX

Dose in a Box Review, By Tatyana Saba

My friend, Alyssa and I decided to check out Dose in a Box, a smaller version of the trendy Coffee Dose located right smack in the middle of Irvine Corporate Park.

It hides right between two tall glass buildings which, once our eyes laid eyes upon the trailer, brightens the dull atmosphere that mutters business. If girls were to decorate a desert, it’d look like this: pastel pink trimmed with black and white stripes and is accompanied by a few very green cactuses. This place is also pet friendly, as I noticed a water bowl and multiple daybeds for your pups and pals (or other creatures) to rest upon while you enjoy your treat(s)!

It was difficult to choose from their menu of specialty drinks as there were so many options that sounded delightful. I ended up ordering Mary Matcha (tea) and she, The Beauty (coffee). Both were incredibly delicious and refreshing. Each weightlessly sweet, just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth but not too much to rot out! The lavender syrup was a nice touch to my Matcha as well as the rose to her coffee.

Coffee Dose/Dose in a Box used to offer the option of adding a few drops of the CBD “Anti-Bitch Serum” to their beverages, but they no longer do that –HOWEVER, I was able to buy the bottle at a reasonable price for its size; $64.65 with tax for 1oz of 500MG of CBD. The serum ingredients include MCT oil (coconut), hemp extract and terpenes. The oil is a touch on the heavy side and tastes of orange blossoms, no trace of the taste of coconut for you non-coconut fans!

When we added the serum to our drinks, the chemistry was wonderfully light and subtle. Interestingly, when I tried the “Anti-Bitch Serum” with my everyday coffee at home, the flavors did not blend. Although, I recommend taking a full dose or two by itself when you have a headache, a natural go-to remedy for everyday mundane pain!

As we continued to slurp our drinks, we decided to try the Shroom shots. I, the Inner Energy which has Cordyceps & Lions Mane and she the Golden Immunity which has Turkey Tail. The mix wasn’t terrible, One could say that we were drinking for our health, not for flavor.

Overall, I would certainly return as their drinks were quite delicious and fresh. But next time, I look forward to trying their snacks and meals!
