Wheelhouse is not just a business focused on selling cannabis, but rather, we are a business set on changing the lives of others. We address community issues head-on, and provide much needed assistance to others through community service, educational programming, and community activism.
Additionally, we are committed to providing mentorship to at-risk youth through supporting non-profit organizations whose focus is specifically on youth. For the past several years, our Chief Executive Officer, Zahur Lalji, has been an active board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters Ventura County, a nonprofit that provides mentorship to at-risk youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters recently awarded Zahur “Partner of the Year” on July 22, 2021. Wheelhouse believes in giving back to the communities in which we do business. Since 2019, dating back to when we opened our store located in Port Hueneme, our company has reinvested over $150,000 into local charities across Ventura County. Recipients include Autism Society Ventura County, REACH!, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme. Additionally, Wheelhouse, as a true community steward, works side by side with local law enforcement to ensure that the neighborhood surrounding our location, and the community as a whole, remains safe and free from crime.
As an experienced cannabis operator, we ensure that our business practices exceed industry standards in compliance, customer service, product knowledge, and professionalism. Our high standards of customers service has led to Wheelhouse receiving in 2020 and 2021 “Best Marijuana Dispensary” Award from Ventura County Reporter for the unique exemplary customer service we provide. We provide regular trainings and audits to ensure that our staff members are truly the most skills in the industry.
