Owner Dawn Wellman discovered the therapeutic benefits of CBD in a very personal way, when her husband Jeff first tried CBD to relieve persistent back pain. While traditional pain relievers left him foggy headed and still in pain, CBD delivered the relief he sought and — finally — a good night’s sleep.

Determined to share this miracle of nature with others, Dawn and Jeff initially considered farming hemp. After all, Kentucky has long been one of the leading hemp producers in the country, and the buzz surrounding hemp, CBD, and the 2018 Farm Bill that made it all legal was an inviting prospect.

But thoughts of farming turned instead to retail. Already successful entrepreneurs - having started and sold a truck parts business in Lexington, Kentucky - Dawn saw that the CBD industry was suffering from a lack of retail expertise as well as the stigma of being a “cannabis” business. Superior customer service and extensive product knowledge were sorely needed in this business, along with a personal touch.

The couple traveled from their home in Georgetown, Kentucky, to every CBD conference they could find, visited manufacturers and suppliers, and carefully vetted dozens of companies to find the perfect mix of CBD products from artisan cultivars and extractors. Most of the suppliers they chose were like them – family run businesses on a mission to share this natural alternative to traditional medicine.
